Terms of use

The terms that apply to this website and its booking application — including, most importantly, what this site is not.

This is a demonstration website. Woodside Chiropractor, LLC is a fictional business. The clinic, its chiropractors, their experience, its fees, its premises and the patient comments shown here are all invented, and every telephone number is the placeholder 000-000-0000. No appointment booked here is a real appointment and no message sent from this site reaches a real clinic. This website exists to show what can be designed, provisioned, deployed and hosted through MaiaHost.

Not medical advice

Chiropractic care is not a substitute for medical diagnosis, and nothing on this website is medical advice for your particular problem. We are not physicians: we do not prescribe medication, we do not perform surgery, and we do not treat disease. What we do is examine how your spine and joints move, work on them by hand, and give you something to do between visits. If your problem turns out to be outside that, we say so and refer you — which happens often enough that you should expect it as a normal outcome rather than a failure.

What chiropractic does not treat

We treat musculoskeletal problems: the spine, the joints, the muscles and the nerves that are irritated by them. We do not claim that adjusting a spine treats asthma, allergies, ear infections, colic, digestive disease, high blood pressure, infertility, immune function or any other internal illness. Chiropractors who make those claims are making them without good evidence, and you should be wary of anybody who does. If somebody has told you that spinal care will fix a condition on that list, we will tell you honestly that it will not.

Risks

Adjustment is generally safe and the common side effects are mild — soreness like the day after unfamiliar exercise, a little stiffness, sometimes tiredness, usually gone within a day or two. Serious complications are rare, but they are not zero, and the one people ask about is neck manipulation. We screen for the things that make it a bad idea, we will tell you when we think the neck should be left alone, and we can treat a neck without high-velocity manipulation if you would rather we did. Ask for that and you will get it without an argument. The full discussion is on the risks and safety page.

Emergencies

Nothing on this website is a route to urgent care. If you have numbness in the groin or inner thighs, have lost control of your bladder or bowels, have a leg that is becoming weak rather than painful, have back pain with a fever, have unexplained weight loss alongside it, or have a sudden severe headache unlike any you have had before, seek emergency medical attention immediately rather than booking an appointment.

Appointments booked through this site

  • A request, then a confirmation

Choosing an hour holds it immediately and sends you an email. Confirming it takes one click and simply tells the clinic to expect you. Not confirming does not cancel anything — the appointment stays where it is and shows as unconfirmed.

  • Cancelling

You may cancel your own appointment from the link in any of our emails at any point up until the appointment start time. Past appointments cannot be cancelled online. There is no cancellation charge.

  • Accuracy

The calendar reflects each chiropractor's schedule at the moment the page loaded. In the rare case that two people select the same hour within seconds of each other, the second booking is refused and the day's remaining hours are reloaded.

  • Fees

The fees shown are the fees charged. Where insurance applies, the insurance page sets out how the billing runs. No fee is ever charged for a referral letter.

Content

The text, layout, code, brand mark and generated imagery on this website belong to Woodside Chiropractor, LLC and its developers. The photographs and the hero video are generated imagery of a fictional clinic and depict no real person, premises or event. You may read, print and link to these pages freely; please do not republish them as your own.

External links and accuracy

We try to keep everything here accurate and current, and clinical understanding changes. Nothing on this site is a substitute for an examination by a qualified clinician who can actually look at you.

We do not claim anyone else's approval. Chiropractic is a licensed health profession in New York State, and every chiropractor is registered with the State before they may practise. What we will not do is decorate this website with the name of a board, a college or an association as though somebody else vouches for us — nobody outside this clinic has reviewed it. So instead of showing you a badge, these pages tell you plainly who will see you, what they will do, what they will not do, what it costs, and what the risks are. Ask us about any of it before you book.
